Barry Adams, B.Eng(Elec), Grad Dip Eng Maint, MIEAust.

Barry commenced his career in 1974 following the completion of a B.Eng (Elec). He has 5 years hard-rock mining experience and 25 years experience in the offshore and onshore oil and gas industry in a variety of maintenance, operations, project, supervisory and executive management roles in Australia and the United Kingdom. He worked for Esso Australia for 12 years and joined Woodside in 1992. He spent three-years on secondment to Shell Expro in the UK North Sea as Production Support Manager and returned to Woodside in 1995 as the Offshore Operations Manager. In 2000 he was appointed General Manager of the South-Eastern Australia Business Unit based in Melbourne and managed a portfolio of assets including the Geographe/Thylacine discoveries in the Otway Basin. In April 2003 he joined Business Essence as a Director and Business/Management Consultant. During the past 15 years he has led several executive level business reviews for the resource industry and has also undertaken a number of executive level roles, on a project basis, for a wide variety of companies in start-up or turnaround phase. He also provides an ongoing advisory service to a range of small to medium sized companies on business strategy, planning and improvement. Barry is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and Engineers Australia, and a Director of Business Essence Pty Ltd.

Kay Trembath, Grad Dip Bus

Kay has over 15 years experience working in the oil and gas industry for both operating and service companies and 20 years experience running her own business consultancy. She commenced her career with Esso Australia in 1984 and during the next 8-years worked in a variety of executive assistant roles in Victoria and New South Wales. In 1992, she moved to Scotland (UK) and was appointed the Services Coordinator for the start-up of Det Norske Veritas’ international safety and loss control management business where she was responsible for the design and development of systems and procedures to support the business unit. In 1995 she returned to Australia and settled in Perth where she started Business Essence. In 2000 she relocated the business to Melbourne to undertake a 2 year project for the Victorian Worksafe Major Hazards Unit. Since then Kay has worked in a wide variety of sectors specializing in Business Process Mapping and Documentation Management Systems. Kay has specialist skills in process mapping, design and re-engineering of business processes across a wide range of industries and has over 30 years experience in office and system administration.

Peter Elze, B.Sc Geology, B.Sc Economics, (Hons)

Peter Elze has 40 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry. Commencing in 1979, Peter spent 15 years as an exploration geologist working for Exxon Mobil and BHP Petroleum in Australia, South East Asia and the USA. Following a move into the commercial arena with BHPP and later Woodside, he has been involved in gas marketing, resource and commercial analysis, external affairs, data integration and project management. Peter has also had experience in training and running courses in Total Quality Management and more recently petroleum economic analysis. Peter has the ability to provide a bridge between technical and commercial groups both within and between companies. International and considerable consulting experience has enhanced diplomacy skills and developed awareness of other cultures and commercial matters which can assist in project facilitation. Peter is a Director of PME Consulting Pty Ltd, which he established in 1999.
